The Prasiolite used in fine jewellery is created through a delicate process. When heated, a small percent of quality Purple Amethyst undergoes a unique colour transformation, resulting in the stunning green colour we admire in this gem.
At Inesce, we source high-quality Purple Amethyst (Purple Quartz) which turns pale green when heat treated. There remain minimal deposits of rare 'natural Prasiolite' in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil, Lower Silesia in Poland and Canada.
Prasiolite has a hardness of 7 on the MOHS Scale, making it a durable stone, with the same wearing properties as Purple Amethyst and Citrine.
